How to travel to Paracas

Paracas Town is located in the central coast of Peru, 16.4 feet / 5 m.a.s.l., on plain desert, facing Pacific Ocean in Paracas Bay and protected by Paracas Peninsula.

Paracas is a cove, a spa, catering to tourism, is the jumping point for tours to Ballestas Islands and to Paracas National Reserve also overflights to Nazca Lines and Palpa Lines.

Paracas by land - Travelling by Bus

The traditional way to travel to Paracas Town, or Pisco Town , is by bus, both towns are connected with South Pan-American Highway.

Paracas is linking with Pisco (22 Km.) where they are also located the bus stations for trips from / to Lima, Ica or Nazca. The main tourist bus lines arrive and departure from Paracas.

Paracas by Air - Domestic Flights

The Pisco Airport, located 22 Km north from Paracas Town, from April 2018 has regular flights from Lima and Cuzco. Also from this airport are operating flights towards the Nazca Lines and Palpa Lines.

The best way to appreciate the lines is to get a bird's-eye view from overflight.

There are several companies that offer the flights over the Nazca and Palpa lines, some start their flights from the airport of Pisco. Normally the flight from Pisco lasts 1h. 30 minutes and 1h 45 minutes if includes the Palpa Lines. The small aircrafts are specially designed with large panoramic windows and good comfort to take great pictures.

Passengers must pay an airport tax in addition to the value of the overflight tour.

It is advisable to have an advance reservation, which you can reach at Paracas and no place to get the flight, specially in high season.
